Dear Academy Colleagues,
I greatly look forward to seeing each of you soon at our general assembly meeting at Marbach Castle during September 1-4. It promises to be an exceptional meeting.
PROGRAM Download Here
Maria de Ibarrola has done a marvellous job in assembling the wonderful program. This document contains (a) a list of the names of Fellows and partners attending and (b) our Policies and Procedures for Nominations of New Fellows.
VENUE
Marbach Castle, situated on 43 acres of parkland on the shores of Lake Constance (in Germany) near Zurich, has 700 years of history. Visit http://scholossmarbach.de/en/4 for photographs of scenery, buildings, conference facilities, accommodation, French-inspired restaurant, bars, golf course, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, sauna and available activities.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS
The Jacobs Foundation has outsourced these arrangements to VIP CONCIERGE Zurich (email:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., mobile: +41 78 652 0822). Maryan has been contacting each Fellow by email and has been very helpful.
MEAL TIMES
Breakfast times are flexible, but you should arrive for lunches and dinners at the times specified in the attached program.
WEATHER AND MOSQUITOES
Locals say that we can expect pleasant and mild late-summer weather (hopefully), but to bring something warmer to wear outside at night. Also there could be rain.
Just in case you might be visited by thirsty mosquitoes at night, some insect repellent is recommended.
REMINDER ABOUT FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
For Fellows, all accommodation, meals, morning/afternoon teas, ground transportation and recreational facilities will be provided free of charge by the Jacobs Foundation. For partners, all the same benefits will be provided at a cost of 150 euros per night (total 450 euros).
Fellows making their own travel arrangements will apply for a refund by providing the Foundation with boarding passes and other documents AFTER they return home.
BOAT TRIP AND BBQ
On Monday afternoon, there will be a boat trip on Lake Constance, followed by an outdoor bar-b-que dinner. Spouses are welcome.
Best wishes,
Barry
